Social media is all about how you look. You can use these popular themes in your photos, and you’re sure to get attention. In this article, we will discuss many ideas to take aesthetic pictures.
If you’re a fan of apps like Instagram, you know how important themes are. When a profile doesn’t have an eye-catching and consistent look, people who might want to follow it won’t even look at it.
In addition, it can be hard to figure out what kind of look you like, because there are so many different types. In this article, we’ll show you how to use a mobile photo editing app to make different styles, and how to do them.
Getting Started
This article lists and talks about some of the most popular and unique aesthetics. If you want to make them, it will show you how to do it with the PicsArt app. However, any app that can do a lot of things with photos will work.
1. Dark Academia
People who like the Dark Academia aesthetic like to look at old, Western-style buildings like Oxford, but with a layer of gloom because they’re procrastinating or depressed because of their education.
There is a visual aesthetic that is based on brown earth tones, antiques, poetry written in cursive or typed out, Renaissance art, and Collegiate-Gothic-inspired textures and shapes because of this somber and romantic mood.
How to Get the Dark Academia Aesthetic pictures
You’re going to start by editing your photo with the standard editing tools so that it’s underexposed, a little warm-toned, and not as bright as it should be.
When you open PicsArt, go to Effects at the bottom and look for them there. Noise, Vignette, and Vintage filters are all types of filters that you should look for. These tend to show off this look the best, as well as ones with warm tones. There are also Paper filters, which can be good.
Then, go to Sticker, type in the theme in the search bar, and choose your favorite ones. They work well for Dark Academia. Use a cursive or typewriter font for poetic texts to add a little extra flair to your writing project.
And finally, you can add an overlay that will further enhance the solemn mood. We used a picture of brown crinkled paper. To do this, tap Add Photo, select a picture from your camera roll, turn down its opacity, and position it over the image.
2. Cyberpunk
If you want something with a little bite, Cyberpunk is a good choice. This genre came about after a technological revolution because people could see what the future would look like. It focuses on city life with a little help from artificial intelligence.
Cyberpunk has a dark, blue-toned palette, a few splashes of neon colours and lights, and rectangular shapes that look like buildings. Shapes and textures from both utopian and dystopian architecture can also be found in this area. For example, dark stoned pavements and stainless steel fixtures can be found here.

Edit your picture with the standard editing tools, focusing on getting a dark, blue-toned colour. You should also turn up the Sharpness/Clarity of the picture, as well
Now, look for filters and effects that can make your picture look like it’s made by AI, like SKTCH1 which lets you outline in neon and Sticker that lets you add cyborg parts. They work well with filters like Glitch and Moonlight that use RGB (red, green, and blue), like these.
Lense Flair will look like the flashing neon lights of nightlife in the future. If there is a person in the picture, make one of their eyes red to make it look more human.
Lastly, you can add a grid-like filter such as Spotted, which will further enhance the rectangular elements of the image.
3. Pristine
A pristine aesthetic doesn’t have a long history. Instead, it’s made up of things that are usually found in heaven, like clouds, crystals, and feathers. This is a great theme for someone who wants to make something that isn’t very feminine.
There are many ways to have a pristine look, but it usually has a pastel colour scheme, artifacts like glass and diamonds, and soft textures like fur and feathers.

Turn down the contrast and turn up the brightness so that you get a bright image that doesn’t have any aggressive colours. This is how you start. Color Replace can help you match any objects that stand out from the rest of the colours in your room.
Add a colour that looks like the objects in your image by using Colorize. Turn down the Opacity setting to make the colour a little less bright. Now, go to Brushes and look for stars, hearts, or anything else that fits the theme. Then, brush them over your picture.
4. Baddie
You’ve seen this style all over social media. It’s the most popular, and it’s all about attitude. These are the kinds of things that young people who are “influencers” do to their pictures. It’s all about things that are trendy but with an edgy twist.
A Baddie edit has no set colour palette, so there are many ways to make it look like one. It includes things like Barbie and chains and money and glitter and designer clothes, as well as things from the past like flip phones. In the end, it’ll all come down to what people think of you as long as it looks cool.

Edit your picture with the standard editing tools to make it look a little more natural, but turn down the Saturation. A hue from Colorize can help you pick out a colour theme, so choose one from there.
Start adding filters. Our favorite for this look is Lomo. Blur or Glitch filters are the best and don’t use filters like Noise or Paper, which are old. You can also put things or people on top of a picture and make them less visible.
Most of the things that will make your picture look bad will come from stickers. If you want to make a statement with your decor, look for things like chains and designer logos, as well as things that will make your decor pop like glitter or neon horns. Assort them so that they don’t overlap, and don’t drown out the person or thing with them.
5. Kidcore
The Kidcore aesthetic is all about bright and rainbow colours, kids’ themes, and 80s and 2000s nostalgia. This theme is very busy because every part of an image will have something to do with Kidcore.
A lot of the things there will be Carebears and Hello Kitty. There will also be colourful beads and pictures of candy, toys, and games from a long time ago.

This theme works best with photos that already have a lot of colour in them. Open your picture in the standard adjustment tools. Turn up the Clarity and Saturation settings to make it better.
In this case, you don’t need to do this next step. But if you want to make the colours stand out even more, add an overlay (we used a picture of beads), and lower the opacity of the overlay.
